Social Emotional Learning
Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
Sunrise Elementary School is committed to ensuring all students have a positive strong sense of self-worth, citizenship, social awareness and social skills as well as a sound, challenging, and positive academic experience. To support this mission, we are implementing social emotional learning through Playworks, Random Acts of Kindness, and The Zones of Regulation.
